Ulver

Ulver are a Norwegian experimental musical collective founded in 1993, by vocalist Kristoffer Rygg. Their early works, such as debut album Bergtatt, were categorised as folklore-influenced black metal, but the band has since evolved a fluid and increasingly eclectic musical style, blending genres such as rock, electronica, symphonic and chamber traditions, noise, progressive and experimental music into their oeuvre.

This time blending live recorded improvisational soundscapes and pieces of other albums, blended in the studio to make an interesting listen as well as a tapestry of ambient background sounds. https://embed.spotify.com/?uri= spotify:track:7pB7najNNjp8KvBDcmb1YO The Assassination of Julius Ceasar I respect Ulver in their high quality endeavours through which ever genre they do, and this record is of the same high quality. But after listening to it intensely, I find that the suspense and atmosphere of Ulver is ever present but the glossy '80s pop topping does ruin it for me a bit. https://embed.spotify.com/?uri= spotify:track:5nT5pi9cEqW8zmEZjoEHkw Teachings In Silence A masterfully crafted work of twisting and dark ambient. Using all kinds of apparatus and devices, Ulver crafts twisting melodies and gloomy soundscapes to an artform. Childhood’s End Messe I.X-VI.X
